Hi, I’m Daina.

A content leader, strategist, and writer focused on climate, sustainability, and circular economy.

I have 12 years of experience directing and producing editorial and content marketing projects — from research-driven articles and reports, to podcasts, newsletters, and everything in between.

I spent the first eight years of my career working as a journalist at some of Canada’s largest newsrooms and magazines, like Global News and The Walrus. It’s there where I covered some of the country’s most high-profile stories, including two federal elections, Ontario’s historic 2019 floods, the First Nations water crisis, and the national opioid problem. I’ve won several awards for my investigative and multimedia work, including two RTDNAs and a Digital Publishing Award, and have been invited to speak about my reporting in both high school and university classrooms.

As my reporting made it more clear that the climate crisis wasn’t going away, I felt compelled to be a part of the solution.

So in 2022, I joined B2B climate tech startup Manifest Climate, where I led the company’s content marketing strategy and helped manage its subscription-based editorial product. Since then, I’ve branched out on my own to grow and maximize my impact.

Currently, I oversee the Globe and Mail’s in-print and online commercial property report section. I also work with nearly a dozen climate tech and sustainability-focused brands — including Cloverly, EnergyHub, and the Royal Bank of Canada — to deliver relevant, strategic, and authority-building content.

My approach to content is simple:
1) Uncover opportunity gaps and identify goals
2) Develop a holistic content engine that builds trust and meets your audience where they are
